What I had to weigh was associated with the financial decision to begin my practice this summer. So, my missing the show is ultimately for a good reason. It wouldn't be financially responsible to put funds into an event (including dealer space, travel, hotel, etc.) when I'm starting this work. However, what this will mean is that when I get to go next year, I'll have that much more to show for it.
I'm planning a gaming and health day, it'll be my own little slice of what PAX offers. The idea of gathering people together and celebrating what makes gaming so great is something that I'm looking forward to. I'll be posting information about this once I formalize the event (just contracting for the date at this point), under my "Level Up" tab. It will be hoted in the board room at my agency's new office location in Greensburg, PA. This is the primary location where I'll be having my home office as well, so it's very appropriate. I'll be broadcasting it on my Twitch channel: http://www.twitch.tv/stevagorn8
In other news, and related to my triumphant return to PAX East next year (it doesn't sound as good as "this year") will be the completion of my dissertation. I'm getting so close to this. If you follow my twitter (https://twitter.com/Stevagorn), you know I've been dropping little updates. To give a more formal explanation, I'm analyzing the data. I've taken a look at much of the demographic information I've completed, and I'm happy with what I'm seeing. It still needs to be run against the metrics I used to establish any meaning to these numbers. So that's soon. Really soon in fact, I'll be running three major examinations of the data this weekend. That'll then provide the information I need for the final analyses, which will be completed the following week. A lot going on out here. I'm looking forward to sharing all of this, hopefully very soon. If anyone is going to PAX East, please Tweet at me during the show, it would be good to be there in spirit.
